Young child found in water at Boultham Park

Police are appealing for eyewitnesses and information after a young child was discovered in the water at Boultham Park in Lincoln.

Officers were called to the area at around 9.20pm yesterday where the child was discovered.

The child sustained minor injuries and has been taken to hospital for checks.

A teenage male has been arrested in connection with the incident.

A scene guard is in place in the area and investigations are taking place to determine the sequence of events that led to the child ending up in the water.

“We are appealing for anyone who was in the park at the time, heard anything suspicious or saw or heard a baby. Any detail, no matter how small, could prove crucial,” said a spokesperson.
