UTC’s strong GCSE results
Lincoln UTC students achieved the strongest GCSE results in Maths and English in the college’s history.
The results buck the national trend with Ofqual reporting that although pass rates are up nationally they are down in the core subjects of Maths and English.
Principal Stuart Hamer (pictured above with some of his successful students) said: “We are extremely pleased to report that results at Lincoln UTC are moving firmly in the right direction.
“In English, 85% of students achieved grade 4 or above, while in Maths the figure was 87%. At grades 5–9, outcomes were equally impressive, with 68% in English and 65% in Maths. These achievements are significantly above last year’s national averages, and we are confident that they will again place Lincoln UTC ahead of national standards this year.
“Our top two students demonstrated what can be achieved with hard work and determination. Between them, they secured an incredible eleven grade 9s, two grade 8s, three Distinction* grades, and one Distinction.”
Andrew Ogg, member of the governing body added: “We are incredibly proud of the exceptional GCSE results achieved by our students this year. Their hard work, determination, and commitment to their studies have really paid off, and these outcomes reflect both their effort and the support of our dedicated staff. It is always a privilege to see how our students rise to the challenge and achieve success. Many will now go on to join our sixth form in September, and we look forward to supporting them as they take the next step in their education, alongside welcoming new students to the UTC.”
The Lincoln UTC Sixth Form provides a specialist education for students wishing to pursue future careers in science, engineering, mathematics, or technology.
