MP’s fact-finding survey for e-scooter campaign
City residents have enlisted the aid of Lincoln MP Hamish Falconer to tackle the dangers and nuisance caused by e-scooter riders.
The MP has set up an online questionnaire to gather as much information as possible about the problem across the city before meeting police to discuss the issue scheduled for June 27.
As previously reported by Hello Lincoln it is illegal to ride e-scooters in public places despite them being legal to buy,
Last month police seized eight scooters after their owners rode them through the city centre - the riders will be reported for driving a motor vehicle without insurance – an offence that carries up to six penalty points.
There was a positive public reaction to the operation to clear the city centre of the nuisance on May 14-15, but the MP’s survey aims to gauge the scale of the problem across Lincoln.
