Mini festival of music and eco-fashion
Lincoln sustainability collective Project Fashion Fixed is set to deliver a celebration of culture, creativity, and conscious living.
This one-day mini-festival, scheduled for Saturday, May 31, aims to transform The Engine Shed into a vibrant hub of music, sustainable fashion, and community connection.
The Big Do represents a significant evolution for Project Fashion Fixed, building on their successful 2023 event with expanded programming and deeper community partnerships.
This grassroots initiative brings together Lincolnshire's diverse creative ecosystem, from students and makers to musicians and sustainability advocates, in a carefully curated experience that balances purpose with celebration.
"We've created something that goes beyond typical sustainability events," explained Kerry Gibson, project organiser.
"The Big Do isn't about guilt or sacrifice—it’s about showcasing the incredible innovation happening right here in Lincolnshire when people approach consumption and creativity differently."
Daytime festivities include a collaborative playlist, an upcycled fashion show, a clothes swap, and a variety of stalls featuring local makers, resellers, fashion, charity stalls and books. Creative workshops throughout the day offer hands-on engagement with sustainable practices, such as a mending table and zine-making.
At night Lincoln’s Sam Harrison presents a showcase of local talent including open mic performances, live bands, DJ sets, and even crowd karaoke.
Project Fashion Fixed alum Jade King reflected on the 2023 event: "The final event was amazing, full of people I hadn't ever seen or heard of before, coming together. The whole day had just the best energy."
This May’s expanded event serves multiple purposes beyond entertainment - organisers have integrated support for local food banks while demonstrating how global sustainability frameworks can manifest through practical, community-level action.
