Lincoln City 0, Burton Albion 1
Michael Skubala is determined to see his side finish the season on the strongest possible note after a disappointing home defeat against Burton Albion.
The Imps sit 13th in Sky Bet League One with 13 games to go, with City's head coach wanting to finish as high up the table as possible.
He said: "We've got to keep moving and progressing, we don't want to let the season peter out. We will keep pushing to put points on the board.”
A late goal in stoppage time from Charlie Webster gave Albion the win at the LNER Stadium.
Skubala made two changes from the side that swept Mansfield Town 3-0 in midweek. Sam Clucas makes his full home debut for the club in place of Tom Bayliss. Fresh off his goal in midweek, Dom Jefferies replaced Reeco Hackett out wide.
The first half saw City testing the Albion goalkeeper to little effect, but after the break the Imps thought they had taken the lead a minute after the restart when Sam Clucas danced his way into the penalty area before slotting the ball into the net from close range. Referee Ruebyn Ricardo had spotted a foul during the play and the goal was chalked off.
The Imps thought they had taken the lead for the second time when Collins bundled the ball beyond Crocombe. Unfortunately for Skubala's side the assistant had his flag up for offside and in the second minute of added time midfielder Webster fired an effort into the roof of the net from inside the box for the visitors to take the points back to Staffordshire.
"The lads are all really disappointed to lose against Burton Albion, we didn't have enough intensity or look like we had our usual zip,” said Skubala.
"As a group we need to learn to move it quicker against teams that come and sit back against us."
He added: "I made the changes to try and push the game, trying to get fresh legs and some speed on.
"We always want to push the game, and we'll keep working hard and pushing to get as many points as possible on the board."
