Imps target win over Terriers

Imps target win over Terriers

City boss Michael Skubala wants his players to bag all three points when they host Huddersfield Town tonight – kick off 7.45pm.

And the head coach wants the fans at the LNER Stadium to create an atmosphere that will help the squad stretch their unbeaten run at home to four games after a disappointing trip to Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.

"I thought Wycombe away was a 0-0 game. We didn't create enough, but I didn't feel threatened by them either. We kept them quiet, but we lost out on the big moment and that's happened a couple of times for us this season unfortunately.

"I've said to the players, there is always something to play for in professional football. Three points are really important.

"I'm looking at things ahead of next season and we are trying to learn little things and grow as we go. It's all part of the jigsaw and what we want to build going forward to next season.

"Huddersfield are a big club with a strong budget and good players in the squad but haven't found the consistency, showing how tough the league is again. But we aren't worried about what they are doing - we are worried about what we can do and how we can build as a club.

"Tuesday night under the lights is always good, and we want to put on a performance that the supporters can be proud of as always. We want to get after the game and get the three points. Hopefully we can get the place rocking with a strong away following too."

The visitors will be looking to bounce back from their defeat to Charlton Athletic last Saturday.

The Terriers head to Lincoln one place and one point outside of the final play-off spot, having played the same number of games as sixth-placed Reading.

The reverse fixture at the John Smith’s Stadium in December ended in a 2-2 draw, with Ben House (pictured above) and Bailey Cadamarteri on the scoresheet for the Imps.
