Imps need to make home advantage count
Sitting in 12th position in EFL League One Lincoln City are in danger of losing touch with the play-offs this season.
Michael Skubala’s team need to start reversing its current form when Rotherham United visits the LNER Stadium on New Year’s Day (kick off 3pm).
The Imps are in danger of dropping into the bottom half of the table following defeats at lowly Shrewsbury Town on Boxing Day and Bolton Wanderers on Sunday and having played one match more than many of the teams above them.
The good news is that City’s recent victories have come on home turf so they need to make that advantage count against the Millers, who are currently in 17th position.
"We've just got to get through it as a club - to make sure that we keep trying to push and pick up points,” said Skubala after the Bolton match, which saw Ethan Erhahon sent off, so he will be serving a one-match ban forcing a change in City’s midfield.
"No one said this league was going to be easy this season. We needed a better period over these past 10 games, there's no doubt about that, but we'll dust ourselves off and give it a go on New Year's Day."
