Imps aim for a hat-trick of wins
Lincoln City welcome Blackpool to the LNER Stadium tonight – kick-off 7.45pm.
Buoyed by Saturday’s 5-1 thrashing of Peterborough and a move up to 11th place just four points away from play-off possibilities, the Imps will want to build on that win to make it three in a row.
Blackpool will want to spoil the party as the Seasiders picked up their first three points since December on Saturday, beating Exeter City 3-1 at St James Park, to stretch their unbeaten run to five games.
The Imps are three places above the Seasiders but a win for Steve Bruce’s side would see Pool close the gap between Lincoln to just one point.
The last meeting between the clubs was back on October 1, which resulted in a 1-1 draw at Bloomfield Road when Tom Hamer scored in added time.
The Imps will be hoping home advantage will take them within a point of the play-offs and in contention for a Wembley trip for fans once again.
Head coach Michael Skubala said tonight’s fixture will be tough: "We had a great performance on Saturday which helps and hopefully we can go again. Everyone is searching for consistency in their results because it can really impact the league.
"Tuesday night will be very different from Peterborough. But we are at home and we want to take the game to them as we did on Saturday and try and be aggressive with and without the ball.
"If you can pick up points in a three-game week, then things can look very different. Hopefully we can get another three points on the board and keep pushing on. Blackpool dominated Exeter so we know it's going to be a tough game. They're very physical and very fast, with some very experienced players so we are going to have to be on it."
