Former players honour victims of Valley Parade Fire
Footballers from the Lincoln City Former Players Association and Bradford City Veterans will come together for a charity game at the LNER Stadium on Saturday, May 10 (12pm KO) to mark the 40th anniversary of the Valley Parade Fire.
The match will honour the 56 people, including lifelong Imps Bill Stacey and Jim West, who tragically lost their lives on Saturday, May 11, 1985, when a fire engulfed the main stand at Bradford’s ground. Over 250 people were injured.
Simon Yeo, Matt Rhead and John Schofield among others will once again be gracing the LNER Stadium turf, with money from every ticket bought going towards to the Bradford Burns Unit and Lincoln’s Buddies Dementia Cafe.
This will be the second meeting between the two associations, which played out an entertaining 3-3 draw at the LNER Stadium back in October.
Tickets are priced at £10 for adults, £5 for children and can be purchased HERE
