Ex RAF police dogs up for adoption
It’s been National Rescue Dog Day this week and the team at RAF Waddington has highlighted that two former service canines are up for adoption.
The two ladies pictured are both former RAF police dogs who are looking for new homes to enjoy a well-earned peaceful retirement.
Reja (top) is a 12-year-old Dutch Herder and spent part of her working life in the RAF Police Dog Demo Display Team travelling around the country entertaining and informing the public.
Now sleep is her favourite pastime and she enjoys a good fuss from humans as well as being kept busy with toy feeders, lick mats and food puzzles.
Food is also a big priority for seven-year-old Kira (below) who is a Belgian Malinois, who spent the first half of her career in Cyprus as a police dog.
She is highly intelligent, loves a belly rub and snuggle as a well as a cup of tea.
Kira enjoys having something to do especially being kept busy with food games to use her hunting skills and sense of smell.
