Another tough test for Imps

Another tough test for Imps

Lincoln City will want to put Tuesday night’s defeat at Rotherham United behind them when they are back on home turf tomorrow (Saturday, December 7).

However, they face another big club on a similar mission in Charlton Athletic, who also suffered a midweek defeat against Crawley Town.

The Imps head into the weekend in ninth place in League One and four points outside the play-off zone, while their visitors are four points behind in 13th position.

City will be relieved to be at the LNER Stadium where they have won three of their last five league matches and consign the three straight league defeats – Wycombe Wanderers, Wrexham and Rotherham – to history.

The Addicks have won just won of their previous seven games – the win being over second-from-bottom Burton Albion.

The first goal could be crucial as the visitors have win all six of the league games in which they have scored the opener.

There’s an early 12.30pm kick-off for tomorrow’s match, which will be shown on Sky Sports.

Fun fact – Charlton Athletic are called the Addicks because they used to have a fish supper after their matches. The haddock and chips became ‘addick’ because of the London accent.
