Music students’ garden inspiration

Good luck to these music students whose musical compositions will be assessed today.

The second-year students from the University of Lincolnshire had been tasked to write a musical piece inspired by gardens and were rehearsing in Dawber Gardens yesterday.

Visitors to The Lawn complex may hear them performing in the gardens, which will be open to the public, between 12 and 1.30pm today.

Dawber volunteers were also hard at work sprucing up the gardens yesterday, so did the surroundings inspire the musicians?

Oliver told HL: ‘The gardens definitely acted as an inspiration – the topiaries by the rose gate gave me the spark for my performance.”
