Take a gamble on students’ show Dead Man’s Hand
The Common Anomaly will present Dead Man's Hand at Lincoln Arts Centre tomorrow.
The original play has been written and produced by nine third year BA Hons Drama and Theatre students from the University of Lincoln and it explores human deception with the machinations of a casino as its backdrop.
For its guests Jack’s Casino is a glittering hive of chance and possibility. For its workers, a realm of routine, regimentation and control.
The Common Anomaly’s high-stake play Dead Man’s Hand delves into the harsh realities of power and the intricacies of human connection.
“Through psychological storytelling, contemporary theatre practices and perspective-driven narrative, Dead Man’s Hand uncovers a web of deception hidden beneath the casino’s dazzling facade, where employees suffer at the hands of those they are taught to trust,” said theatre company member Darcie Cound.
“In a place built on duplicity and deceit, what happens when all that remains to be said is the truth?”
“Play your cards right and book your tickets now! “
All tickets are £5 and are available from lincolnartscentre.co.uk or by calling the box office on 01522 837600.
Dead Man's Hand can be seen at 7pm on Friday, May 23 and has a running time of 60 mins with an age guidance of 15+ due to some of its darker themes.
The production is part of Bloom Festival, LaunchFest 25.
