Solo set for Rhys at Lincoln Live

Solo set for Rhys at Lincoln Live

Local music fan JO RICHARDS continues her countdown of bands playing at Lincoln Live – the city’s two-day festival this coming weekend, August 30-31.

Introducing…Rhys Turner, a singer/songwriter from Lincoln, who is well-known for being the charismatic frontman of The Faith Estate.

The band made an notable impact on the main stage at Lincoln Live in 2024 and their EP, “ Something That Hangs Above Us,” can be heard on Spotify.

In his acoustic sets, Rhys has previously presented his own material and included clever interpretations of songs from other artists such John Martyn, Jake Bugg and The La’s.

The Faith Estate have been the most hardworking local band of the last year, showcasing their unique style in famous grassroots venues such as the Sidney & Matilda in Sheffield and the Polar Bear Club in Hull.

Rhys says their biggest gig to date has been the YNot? Festival in Derbyshire, supporting Maximo Park in the Quarry Stage tent.

“In rehearsals, there was an audience of just 30 people. Then the rain came down and suddenly there were thousands.” Asked if that made him nervous, he responded,

“I never get stage fright…ever.” Expect to see a confident performance on the Unplugged Stage uphill on the Saturday and a loyal crowd who will be there to see it.
