There are just 23 days until 2000 Santas fill the streets of Lincoln for one of the city’s most colourful fundraising events.
The 19th Lincoln Santa Fun Run & Walk will take place on Sunday, December 15 starting at Castle Square and as of today (Friday, November 22) over 1,200 of the 2,000 places had been taken.
Organised by the Rotary Club of Lincoln Colonia the event has raised more than £1million for good causes since it started 19 years ago and last year runners collected over £14,000.
This year there 16 partner charities for the event including LIVES, St Barnabas Hospice, Lincoln City Foundation and EDAN Lincs.
Lincoln Community Larder will be accepting donations in Minster Yard during the event and all runners/walkers are asked to bring along one unopened, non-perishable and in date item for the foodbank.
There will also be a Mission Christmas donation point where new, unwrapped gifts can be donated to be given to children at risk of receiving no presents this year.
“The Lincoln Santa Fun Run and Walk is not just a great community festive day for the city it also helps many charities make a real difference for many,” said a Rotary Club spokesperson.
