Good causes share £200,000

More than £200,000 is being shared by 262 local good causes thanks to Lincolnshire Co-op’s Community Champions scheme.

From September 2024 to March 2025, a donation was made each time a member shopped with their dividend card, colleagues organised fundraising, and customers donated spare change into collection pots in outlets.

Involve Lincoln, supported by Lincolnshire Co-op’s Sincil Street Food Store, received £681 from the scheme.

Involve runs the Mint Lane Wellbeing Hub located in Lincoln, which a space for groups that promote activities supporting mental health and wellbeing in the community.

Involve Lincoln Site Manager Ian Blackmore (pictured) said: “We applied to be Lincolnshire Co-op Community Champions to further support our Mint Lane wellbeing hub, including setting up a new art gallery and upgrading our heating and lighting.

“It is so important for small charities like ourselves to offer help and support to the local community, so we would like to send a massive thank you to everyone who has made this possible.”

Lincolnshire Co-op Community Manager Sam Turner added: “It’s once again been overwhelming to visit our Community Champions and see their incredible reactions to the money raised for them.

“With the help from colleague fundraising and our customers scanning their dividend cards or donating change when they shop with us, these local groups can continue to spread positivity and make a great impact on their communities.”
