Welcome to the Community Counts column on Hello Lincoln – a round-up of the news from the groups, schemes and organisations that may just be able to provide the support or help you or your family need.

Much of the information in this first column has been supplied by Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Partnership, but we’re inviting all groups working in the wider community to get in touch with their news.

Ask About Asthma Campaign

This year’s campaign week – running from September 8 – 12 – focuses on preventing asthma deaths.

Simple changes are being made to children and young people’s care that will make a big difference to how they experience their asthma.

This year’s theme, “One year on from the National Child Mortality Database (NCMD) report: How can we prevent asthma deaths?”, highlights the importance of improving asthma care for children and young people.

Online grant writing workshops

Charities, voluntary groups and partner organisations applying for funding can improve their chances of success with grant writing workshops via Zoom organised by Voluntary Centre Services (VCS) in partnership with Lincolnshire Community & Voluntary Service (LCVS).

The introductory session starts on Tuesday September 9 and then the main workshops run every Tuesday from the September 23 with the final session on Tuesday, October 28.
