Woman dies in fire

A woman in her eighties has died in a house fire in North Hykeham.

Emergency services were called to the blaze at Hebden Moor Way on Friday just before 5pm.

Firefighters put out the fire and rescued a woman from inside the house. She was treated at the scene but died a short time later. Her family have been made aware of her death.

Hebden Moor Way, Hykeham Road, Moor Lane and Mill Lane were closed on Saturday and specialist fire investigators gathered information on the cause of the fire, which is still unknown.
