Teens rode motorbike without helmets

A 16-year-old had his motorbike seized after he and his pillion passenger were spotted riding without helmets.

The teenager was also using the off-road bike on city roads without insurance and no driving licence.
Officers from the Roads Policing team saw the bike being ridden on Outer Circle Drive, Lincoln, and stopped it on Browning Drive. The teen has been reported for the offences.
“The dangers of riding without helmets or a licence don't need any explanation,” said a spokesperson.
“There is a time and a place for riding an off-road bike, many responsible owners belong to clubs and ride with appropriate safety gear and experience.
“The anti-social use of motorbikes, either similar to this one or illegal use of e-bikes similar to the Suron-style bikes is of real concern.
“We’re asking for people to share any info that will help us reduce the dangers involved. If someone you know is riding an illegal e-bike/off road bike let us know by calling 101 or 999 if there is a real and present danger.

“Make a note of the dates, times, locations, the descriptions of the bikes, any clothing the riders are wearing. Also inform us if there is any CCTV footage of bikes and any addresses the bikes are being stored at or visiting.”
