Roman wall damage – man to appear in court

A 46-year-old man has been summoned to court for an offence of causing criminal damage to a Roman wall in Lincoln.

Jason James , currently of HMP Lincoln, is alleged to have caused damage to the Roman wall at City Hall, Lincoln on August 24 last year.

He is due to appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on March 12.

The Romans are thought to have built Lincoln’s walls at the start of the second century, so have stood for around 1,800 years.
