Police investigating fatal bypass crash

A man has died following a crash on the Lincoln bypass yesterday.

The collision involving a grey Honda Jazz, a white Ford Mondeo and a Volvo livestock lorry carrying cows, which overturned, occurred at around 10am at the Skellingthorpe roundabout on the A46 road.

The dead man’s family have been informed.

Sgt Adam Doona, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "This is a tragic incident and my condolences go to the family and friends of the man who has died.

"We have a lot of work to do at the scene, with a full scene examination to ensure all and any evidence is secured and preserved. The HGV was transporting a number of cows, and we have specialists dealing with these animals.

"It is my personal ask that speculation is avoided. This can be distressing for family and those sadly affected; it can also disrupt our investigation.”

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to get in touch if they have not already done so.
