Manager of the Year accolade for Skubala
Lincoln City head coach Michael Skubala has been named the Sky Bet League One Manager of the Year.
He collected the accolade at the 2026 League Managers’ Association Awards following a campaign that saw the Imps secure promotion with a record 103-point haul
Guiding the Imps to one of the most successful seasons in the club’s modern history and a return to Championship level for the first time in 65 years earned Skubala recognition from fellow managers across the game.
LMA chief executive Richard Bevan OBE praised Skubala’s achievements while congratulating all of the evening’s winners: “On behalf of the LMA, I would like to congratulate all of this year’s winners, whose dedication, resilience and professionalism continues to shine bright. To be recognised by your peers, those who truly understand the demands and challenges of football management, is a very special honour.
“This season has provided countless examples of outstanding achievements, and special congratulations must go to Frank Lampard OBE, the winner of the Sir Alex Ferguson Trophy for LMA Manager of the Year presented by Vitality, and Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Year.
“The significant achievements of Mikel Arteta, Andrée Jeglertz, Karen Hills, Michael Skubala and Andy Woodman were all recognised for demonstrating their unique qualities as outstanding managers.”
