International Imps
Three of the Imps new signings will be in action for their countries over the September international fixture period with a number of big qualifying matches for various tournaments taking place.
Ivan Varfolomeev (above) has received a call-up for Ukraine U21 as they begin their 2025 UEFA European U21 Championship qualification campaign with a trip to Lithuania today, September 5.
Also hoping to be in action tonight is deadline day recruit Dexter Lembikisa (below) looking to add to his 29 caps for Jamaica starting with a trip to Bermuda. The Reggae Boyz are entering their final phase of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after finishing top of their second-round group.
Lembikisa takes on fellow deadline day signing Justin Obikwu on Wednesday 10 September as Jamaica take on Trinidad and Tobago at Independence Park. Only the group winner will secure a spot at next year’s tournament that takes place in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
Dwight Yorke’s Trinidad and Tobago side will be aiming to start well as they look to reach their first World Cup since 2006, which remains their sole entry to the competition. Before taking on Jamaica, they face Curuacao tomorrow September which may see Obikwu add to his two caps.
