Imps score gold for fan engagement
Lincoln City's commitment to supporter inclusion has seen the club rated in the top three of the Fan Engagement Index once again.
The Imps keep fans apprised of developments and include supporter organisations in the club's decision-making process.
The Index, published annual by Think Fan Engagement, rates football clubs across England based on their dialogue with supporters, governance and transparency.
The Imps and Carlisle United finished joint second and were awarded gold status, alongside supporter-owned Exeter City who finished just ahead.
City's dialogue and transparency were both rated 80 - with no club scoring higher in those categories.
Head of club services Rob Noble said: "Everyone at the club thanks Kevin Rye and the Think Fan Engagement team for their work producing the Fan Engagement Index, and recognising the steps we take to ensure transparent decision-making.
"We increased our overall score and are committed to maintaining this approach. Without changing our structure to be fan-owned it's hard to match Exeter City who are deservedly top, but everyone at the club is determined to keep building on this.
"We're really pleased our transparent approach to supporter engagement and communications has been so highly commended by the Think Fan Engagement team and we will continue to ensure our fans and community are a core part in all our decision making for the football club.”
This follows on from the EFL's Family Excellence Award, where the Imps were again given gold status and recognised as one of the best clubs in the country for their matchday experience.
City were named the third-best club in the EFL after two mystery assessor reports. These recognised City's communication to supporters through email and social media, family entertainment and the service of their fan representatives, which all contributed to ensuring families enjoyed a positive experience.
Noble added: "There are not many clubs who excel in both these strands of fan engagement - and it is great credit to many people that we consistently rank highly across them all.
"Our Foundation do a magnificent job delivering free matchday activities in the Fan Village and on the 3G pitch, while the Red Imps Community Trust recently made a donation to allow us to refresh the equipment in Poacher's Den which provides a warm welcome for home and away fans before games."
