Eastgate Bowls Club Open Day
Are you a keen bowler or someone interested in trying the sport?
Eastgate Bowls Club is holding an open day for prospective members on Saturday, May 2 from 11am to 4pm.
“Our club offers something for everyone: Players of all levels enjoy our twice-weekly casual roll-ups. For the more competitive, we take part in the local area leagues four times a week,” said the club’s Lynne Allison.
“We also hold one-day internal competitions every 2-3 weeks throughout the summer for players of all levels. More experienced players love the challenge of our internal knockout competitions. As it turns chilly in October, we head into our clubhouse to play carpet bowls until spring.”
Socialising is important to the club with barbecues and other meals held after summer competitions and monthly activities during the winter.
“We’re extremely fortunate to have Bar 89 providing delicious food and drinks every day in our clubhouse, and we take full advantage of this after most activities all year round.”
Lynne added: “We’re always keen to welcome new members. Whether you have played elsewhere before, or have never even touched a bowl, you’ll receive a very warm welcome and plenty of guidance and support.
“We’ll lend you some bowls … just wear flat shoes. Thanks to generous support from Lincolnshire Co-op, we have equipment to assist with many disabilities.”
The club on Langworthgate, Lincoln (LN2 4AD) will be holding introductory bowling sessions on May 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 and a Bowls Bash Day will be held on May 23.
Events can be dependent on the weather so keep an eye on the club’s facebook page or use the QR code below.
