Double celebrations for midfielder Moylan
Lincoln City midfielder Jack Moylan has won the PFA League One Fans’ Player of the Month Award for April.
Moylan scored three times during the month, helping the Imps land the Sky Bet League One title with 103 points. The standout moment saw him score a late winner against Reading at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, which sealed a 2-1 win for the Imps and promotion to the Sky Bet Championship for the first time in 65 years.
Moylan's performance also saw him receive international recognition, as he was called-up to the senior Republic of Ireland side for the first time and he scored a hat-trick against Grenada on his debut.
Moylan claimed the most votes and was up against Tayo Edun (Stockport), Johnny Kenny (Bolton), Kasey Palmer (Luton), Carl Piergianni (Stevenage), and Lorent Tolaj (Plymouth).
Of his ROI debut Moylan said: “It’s a day I’ll never forget. Making my Republic of Ireland debut was already a huge moment for me, but to score three goals on top of that is something really special. It probably hasn’t fully sunk in yet.
“Growing up, you dream about representing your country and having moments like this, so to experience it first-hand is incredible and something I’m really proud of.”
The 24-year-old also paid tribute to those who supported him throughout the campaign at the LNER Stadium.
“The support I’ve had all season from the club, staff and supporters has been unbelievable and I’m proud to represent Lincoln City on this stage.”
