Connor drowned while under the influence of alcohol
The results of a post mortem showed student Connor Calleja drowned while under the influence of alcohol, the opening of an inquest into his death has been told.
Connor, 20, went missing in Lincoln in the early hours of Sunday, January 11 and his body was found two days later during a police search of Foss Bank off Brayford Pool.
Connor, from Market Harborough, had followed his dream to study architecture at the University of Lincoln and his family described him as ‘hard-working and determined’ in a tribute following his death.
“Whatever Connor did in life, he did to the best of his ability - he didn’t do half measures. He was committed to everything he did. He was very well thought of, and his friends, family, teachers, and lecturers always spoke so highly of him.”
The inquest at the Myle Cross Centre in Lincoln was adjourned until July 15 by coroner Jayne Wilkes.
