Celebrate with the Imps at city parade

Champions of SkyBet League One Lincoln City FC will be honoured with an open–top bus parade on Saturday, May 9.

The Imps secured the league title on Tuesday, April 21, with a 2-0 win away at Doncaster Rovers after earning promotion to the Championship on Easter Monday with a 2-1 victory over Reading.

This week’s win in front of 3,000 travelling fans took City to 97 points in the league, which meant no other team could overtake the Imps – nearest rival Cardiff City is currently on 88 points with just two games to go. The Imps results so far have been 29 wins, 10 draws with just five defeats – and an unbeaten run of 27 games.

It is the first time City has been in the second tier of English football since the 1960/61 campaign. It was the first time promotion had been won from the third tier since the 1951/52 season - 74 years ago.

Details of the timings and route for the parade are still to be confirmed so watch this space. The event will be organised with City of Lincoln Council and ProAmpac.

In the meantime we thought we would bring you more of the images from Tuesday night of the title winning team’s celebrations.
