Be safe this Halloween
Police are reminding families of an unwritten 'trick or treat' rule that parents have been following for years in Lincolnshire - only call at homes with Halloween decorations.
“By respecting that if someone hasn’t decorated their home, they aren’t taking part, it means people who don’t want to receive callers can enjoy a peaceful evening, and it means that trick or treaters can be reasonably sure that they are welcome at a decorated house and therefore more likely to receive a treat,” said a spokesperson.
Parents are also urged to pass on safety messages to their youngsters: “Please be safe. Consider having a little ghoul school with your children before you set off about following your rules, road safety and being respectful. Above all, enjoy your Halloween or your Halloween free evening!”
