Public meeting over village surgery
North Hykeham MP Dr Caroline Johnson will host a public meeting tomorrow to discuss future services at the Cliff Villages Medical Practice.
The practice’s two surgeries in Waddington and Navenby were closed for a short period in February after its Care Quality Commission (CQC) registration was removed for administrative reasons.
The NHS contract for practice was taken over by the Welby Group, but it was not registered to operate an onsite dispensary, so this facility at the Navenby dispensary was closed on April 10.
Dr Johnson, whose constituency is Sleaford and North Hykeham, indicated the meeting has been organised after concerns have been raised by patients and residents.
The meeting at Wellingore Memorial Hall (LN5 0BD) on Wednesday, May 6 at 6pm will also be attended by representatives from the NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) and the Welby Group.
“The ICB appreciates the feedback already received following changes at the practice, through their recently organised engagement events with patients and residents in recent months. We therefore welcome the opportunity to continue that dialogue alongside Dr Johnson through this community meeting,” said an ICB spokesperson.
“The meeting is intended as an opportunity for local patients and residents to share their views, experiences and priorities for services going forward. It is a forum for open discussion and engagement, rather than an opportunity to reconsider decisions previously taken through the relevant regulatory and contractual processes.”
