Flash Zumba sessions support mental health

Shoppers in Lincoln city centre are set for a lively surprise this Valentine’s Day as a flash mob brings music, dance, and entertainment to the streets in support of young people’s mental health services.

Organised by Zumba with Laura Wade, the event will take place on Saturday, February 14 at two city centre locations.

Participants will perform a Zumba-style routine accompanied by live vocals from the Lincoln-based Rock Choir.

Spectators will have the chance to donate to local charity Shine Lincolnshire with all funds going towards the organisation’s new youth facility in Cherry Willingham. The centre will provide children and young people with a space to access support, activities and wellbeing services.

Laura Wade, the event organiser, said: “This is about visibility, connection, and hope. We want young people to feel seen, supported, and valued and for the whole city to be part of that message.”
The flash mob is open to all. People can take part in rehearsals beforehand, learn routines via shared videos, dance on the day, or simply watch and cheer along.

Performances will take place at:

  • 12:30pm – Waterside Shopping Centre
  • 2:30pm – Stack Lincoln

The event has been made possible with support from Waterside Shopping Centre and Stack Lincoln.
