Bikesafe ready to welcome riders

With lighter nights on the way the experts running Lincolnshire’s Bikesafe course are ready to welcome motorcyclists who want to refresh and develop their riding skills.

BikeSafe Lincolnshire is delivered by serving operational officers from the Force’s Roads Policing Unit, supported by highly skilled volunteer instructors from IAM (formerly Institute of Advanced Motorists) RoadSmart and Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

They bring a wealth of experience, including operational policing, collision investigation, advanced riding and VIP escorting.

“On the day a warm friendly welcome awaits; the day is informative, practical and the feedback for the day shows riders have a brilliant day learning new skills and refreshing their own experience,” said a police spokesperson.

The first course is being held on Saturday, April 11 with the second on Saturday, April 25.

Previous participants have given the course the thumbs up including Peter Cobbold who completed it last year: “I've been riding 40 years with no formal training back in the day, learnt loads of good stuff and it’s nice to have the experience of professional police riders giving you advice and tips to stay safe.”

Brian Hughes added: “Best day of instruction and camaraderie ever. I learned so much and what I learned saved me from at least two serious incidents.”
