Libby’s 1,500-mile bike ride around nature reserves
Cycling through a nature reserve seems like an idyllic outing for a summer’s day, but what about if you were cycling to 100 across the UK’s second biggest county?
Libby John, chair of the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust challenged herself to that feat to raise funds for the charity and will share highlights of her experiences tomorrow for EarthLincs.
After her talk the professor emeritus from the University of Lincoln will also join a discussion on the importance of nature in Lincolnshire for everyone and how people impact the natural world.
“Lincolnshire is an incredible county that has some of the most wonderful wildlife sites in the UK, many of them managed or owned by the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust. I set myself the challenge of cycling to all the LWT Reserves from my home east of Lincoln - there are about 100 and they are spread from the Humber to the Wash and from Stamford to Crowle - so quite a challenge for my not-so-young legs.
“Cycling to all the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust's Nature Reserves was a challenge I really enjoyed and learned a lot from.”
