Lincoln’s live music scene with Jo Richardson
Salt of the Earth raised the roof of The Birdcage last Saturday night with their upbeat authentic folk.
These hard-working, talented musicians have created a well-earned reputation on the live music scene this year. A high standard indeed for a pub gig.
Also keeping the eastern side of the city alive is The Dog and Bone on John Street. They have produced a full live music calendar in recent times. It's a traditional pub with a long-established music heritage and this Saturday they host Carrianne, who played a soulful acoustic set on stage uphill last summer as part of the Lincoln Live festival.
The pick of the gigs this weekend has to be Kings & Bears (pictured) who play their final event of the year at Komodo on Friday.
It's an impressive booking for this grassroots venue, as the band have just announced their support slot for Gene at the Manchester Albert Hall in March. It will be a proper feel-good romp and, I suspect, the last chance to see them for £3.
