Lincoln Live draws the crowds
By Jo Richards
The summer had a grand finale in Lincoln at the weekend.
The city’s biggest music festival, Lincoln Live 2025, show cased a fabulous collection of local musical talent for two days on stages in City Square and St Paul’s in the Bail.
The sun shone (mostly) and the crowds came to celebrate the free event organised by City of Lincoln Council.
It was an occasion for young people to shine. Hermione, a 17-year-old singer from Grantham (below) opened the show on Saturday in the centre of town. She said, “Backstage I was so nervous, but once I went on, I thought, have your moment - just do it!”
BBC Introducing host, Dean Jackson was asked how the artists had been selected. “Only those who show real potential are chosen – those who really love to perform.”
Local rock music giants, Vigilantes, headlined on Saturday, before heading off on tour to promote their new album release.
The Unplugged Stage, uphill, was curated by Acoustic Nation, the team behind Southside. An eclectic mix of artists were chosen, including accomplished solo singers, such as Stephen Tanner from South Lincolnshire, Bagel and Carrianne Rogers. The Birdcage Ukulele Orchestra (top) brought things to a close on Sunday and the audience cheered for more until the end at 5pm.
