See work by county artists at Doddington Hall exhibition.
There’s still time to see Lincolnshire Artists’ Society’s Celebration 26 exhibition at Doddington Hall.
The Society is celebrating its 120th anniversary this year and the exhibition is a chance for the public to see its members’ work.
LAS started out as the Lincolnshire Drawing Club in 1906 with an annual exhibition in the loose boxes of the stables at Monks Manor, Lincoln, the home of its founder Miss Elsie Ruston and her art collecting, industrialist father Joseph.
The Society emerged from an enforced period of inactivity in the First World War and has since had an unbroken run of exhibitions in Lincoln and around the county ever since.
LAS has more than 120 county-wide members and is managed by a volunteer committee with the current President Ian Walter.
Its individual artists embrace many forms of artistic expression and consistently exhibit around the county, country and internationally. Many members are involved in arts education at all levels and with all age groups.
The Society organises group exhibitions throughout the year and its current residency at Doddington Hall reflects a broad content spectrum and members’ wide ranging creative skills.
Celebration 26, Doddington Hall is open daily until April 19, 10am – 4pm.
See www.lincolnshireartistssociety.org for exhibition details, artists’ work and latest news.
