A festive sparkle at Lincoln Castle

A festive sparkle at Lincoln Castle

Hello Lincoln’s interns visited Lincoln Castle Illuminated where the magical views added an extra sparkle to the festive season.

The event brings together heritage and Christmas by lighting up the grounds for some enchanting moments. Even the resident dragons are in the spirit with their Santa hats on.

If you visit Illuminated each year there are some new light features for 2025 creating many spectacular photo opportunities, a unique evening out to spend time with family or friends. You can also enjoy the lights with your furry friends on their dog friendly nights on Wednesday.

The atmosphere is like a winter wonderland with market stalls selling festive gifts and food with traditional fairground rides for the children to enjoy and the Christmas Express train ride.

As we walked by these rides there were lots of smiling and merry children.

Built by William the Conqueror in 1068, Lincoln Castle has stood for hundreds of years, so its heritage combined with the stunning light displays shine a light on the impressive historical landmark we have in Lincoln. This event gives a real sense of pride of place, celebrating the castle in festive fashion.

It’s easy to understand why Lincoln Castle illuminated has become a must-see to enjoy every year and it’s available all the way through to Tuesday, December 23.

For a small fee to enter the grounds, a dazzling time can be spent this Christmas.

Lily’s picture shows Katie in the LINCOLN light display, which has moved from St Paul in the Bail to inside the castle grounds for some fun festive photos.
