Milestone for volunteering platform

The Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Partnership has reached the milestone of having 2,500 people registered on its website for volunteering roles across the county.

The partnership had 1,300 voluntary position across the county for people who want to give back to their community, get job experience, make friends and help others.

Funded Cancer Counselling

Lincolnshire Centre for Grief and Loss offers a grief and loss counselling service to adults and children across the county this includes its Funded Cancer Counselling. 

These counselling sessions can offer support to people who are:

• Living with or are affected by cancer
• Newly diagnosed
• Concerned about treatment and recovery
• Worried about inherited cancers
• Worrying about work and money
• Concerned about who will support or help to look after them.

Job – Garden Assistants

Green Synergy is looking for gardens assistants to support its programme of community gardening and growing on the Oasis Garden, Fiskerton Road, Cherry Willingham.

It’s a chance to join the charity at an exciting time in the life of the garden and the g assistants will support the delivery of the volunteering gardening sessions and gardening activities for some of the therapeutic projects. 

Post holders will work with the Oasis Garden’s Co-ordinator and the projects’ team by empowering a wide range of volunteers and beneficiaries into horticulture. 

This includes, demonstrating horticultural tasks, supervising volunteers, maintaining the garden alongside volunteers and beneficiaries, opening and closing the site, preparing refreshments for the sessions, giving garden tours and inducting new volunteers. 

Candidates will be confident in outdoor horticulture, be physically capable in manual tasks such as lifting and digging, able to work independently and delegate tasks according to individual abilities and be able to empathise and communicate sensitively with a wide range of people. Willingness and flexibility to do a wide range of tasks, such as supporting events and corporate volunteering days, is also required. 

Role: Freelance Gardens Assistant 

Location:  Oasis Garden, Fiskerton Road, Cherry Willingham, Lincoln

Salary: £12.82 per hour. Rising to £13.45 on April 1, 2026. 

Contract: Initial period up to November 1, 2026. Future contract periods are subject to funding

Closing Date:  For the receipt of completed applications is Thursday 4th December 2025 at 9am
