Charity toy appeal aims to bring festive joy to children

A Lincoln charity is calling on businesses and residents to help make Christmas special for children who might otherwise go without.

The Family Action Lincolnshire BOSS Toy Appeal 2025 is now underway, collecting new toys and gifts for children aged between four and 16.

Donations will be distributed to families across the Lincoln, North Kesteven and West Lindsey school districts in time for Christmas.

Last year, the generosity of local people and organisations helped Family Action support 540 children and 277 families, ensuring every child received a gift to open on Christmas morning.

This year, the charity hopes to reach even more children - but they need the community’s help.

“We were overwhelmed by the kindness shown last year,” said Rachel Whipps from Family Action.

“Every donation, no matter how small, makes a difference. We’re asking people once again to come together and help us spread a little Christmas joy to those who need it most.”

Donations of new toys, games, books, arts and crafts, or toiletry gift sets can be dropped off at Langton House, Lindum Business Park, or collections can be arranged by contacting Rachel on 07970 168842 or This email address is being protected from spambots. Gifts are needed by Friday, 21st November 2025, and should not be wrapped, allowing organisers to match the right presents to each child.

Family Action is a national charity that works with families facing hardship, providing practical, emotional, and financial support. Its Lincolnshire BOSS service runs the toy appeal each year to help make sure no child misses out during the festive season.
