Shoppers reminded of new system at Central Car Park
Shoppers heading to Lincoln this weekend are being reminded of the new payment system at Central Car Park. The old chip coin system has been replaced with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology to make parking faster and more straightforward.
Drivers need to approach the entrance barriers slowly so cameras can read their registration number and lift the barrier automatically. If the cameras cannot read the number plate, it can be entered manually at the entrance terminal.
Before leaving, visitors must enter their registration number at one of the pay machines located on the ground floor, first floor, or second floor.
Once payment is made, the exit barriers will automatically lift after the system verifies your vehicle. City of Lincoln Council, which runs the car park, says shoppers are advised to familiarise themselves with the new system to ensure a smooth experience while visiting Lincoln city centre.
